Stumped

Here's a picture of our kitchen before we put anything in it. I'm stumped with what to do with the blank space over the refrigerator. It was designed for a TV and has a plug in and cable connection, but I don't want a TV in the kitchen.

The painted cabinets tend to make the kitchen look "busy" when things are left out. This picture was taken when the house was for sale.

If anyone has a suggestion for what to put in the cabinet above the fridge, I'd love to hear from you. Should I paint it inside? Have cabinet doors made to cover the space? Help!

  1. If you painted the inside an accent colour that works with your decor and added a shelf, it would be a wonderful display space for something like pottery, cake stands, etc. ~ Maureen

  2. How about a wine rack? Or pottery? Or maybe some nice glass front doors and a light in the back behind some pretty colored glass? Love your kitchen! If that's a pantry through the doorway in back, I'll be so jealous!

  3. I am wanting a TV/screen in my kitchen, but not up that high. I want it so I can display the recipes that I've pinned on pinterest while I'm making them. Not necessarily to watch shows. I'm with the others...I would use that space for displaying a collection of some sort. Maybe something with a pop of color. BTW, thanks for stopping by my blog!

  4. I like the kitchen, but lets modernize it a bit. Change the knobs to chrome. Paint the inside of that hole an accent color, like lime or mango. It will be hard to see anything once the refrigerator is there, so I would place 2 unique chrome bookends, and place your hardback recipe books up there.
