Talking Tables

One simple question here girls.
Yeah, I know the men won't like this so
I'm just talking to you women!

Have you seen this table on the
Restoration Hardware website?

Yes...I am in love!!!

I texted these pictures to the middle daughter happily
expressing all the love I was feeling for this table.
I mean, I wouldn't possibly pay that much for it, but
I can dream it might go on a drastic sale someday, right?

 Her only response:
"What's Bill think of it?"

Well, I hadn't run it by him because men are
completely irrational about wood staying wood...
So, I ventured on the wild side and asked!

You don't want to hear his response,
but I can tell you it started with "OMG..."
(and not in a good way)

I have a table that's kind of the same style, but a little
shorter. I think I'm going to try to make it look like this
while I'm waiting for the big "someday" sale.
After all, Wild Bill did express that any nutcase
could do a... "*&%#@!" ...paint job like that.
And, to hear him talk, I'm well qualified!

Wondering what you ladies think of the look?

 Thanks for dropping by!

  2. LMAO...you tell Wild Bill that it takes special talent to make a table look that way! I love it!!

  3. I love the picture, but I know I couldn't live with all that chippy goodness, even though I'm trying hard, BUT, if you like it, go for it. I can imagine Wild Bill, and my husband Handy Andy, are much alike in opinion. I don't usually ask.

  4. I can picture the table looking beautiful in your home. I love your decorating. But it would never work in this totally brown hunting lodge we live in...or would it? :)

  6. I absolutely love it! I'm a huge fan of distressed furniture. But, it doesn't surprise me that your husband doesn't love it. I think that's typical. My husband has turned his nose up at a few of my ideas too.

  7. Rivercrest Cottage,
    I say, "Follow Your Heart"!!!
"Mr. Ed" , like Wild Bill, would nearly have a stroke if I attempted to do a Restoration Hardware approach to our dining room table!!!
That didn't stop me from painting the dark mahogany cabinets in our kitchen to white. . .which now, "Mr. Ed" agrees is a "good thing"!!!
I'll be watching to see if you pursue your dreams, dear friend!!!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  8. How much is it?
I went to the RH website but too many pieces for me to find it.
This is gonna kill you but I had something that looked always exactly like that.
I got it at an estate sale. It was in their basement underneath some boxes of stuff.
    I paid $10 for it...
and then I brought it home and painted it a glossy white.
I guess that answers the question but I actually do like it chippy like that, for someone else.

  9. I love the look, nothing could be too chippy! Don't know the price, but do you thing you could replicate it? It might not be exact but close, and the cost wouldn't hurt to much. My hubs feels the same way yours does!

  11. LOL. I think I had a few other comments but I admit that Bill's response was on my mind. I just don't see him loving this look.
