Struggles

Hope all is well with you...I've found it's easier to say you're back than to actually be back!

The last 7 months have been a struggle to get back to normal, especially in this world of shutdowns and Covid 19.

I wanted more than anything to get a haircut, especially when my bangs almost reached my chin! But long hair started to grow on me (no pun intended) and now I'm leaving it that way.

I'm working on downsizing now that I have everything I own in my garage and small apartment. It seems you have to go through your things about a blue million times before you actually get to a point where you have just what you need and no more.

I've found Blogspot changed all their buttons while I was gone. Took me forever to figure out how to even publish a post!

Today is the first day of Summer I think. The 4th of July will be here before we know it, and it seems like it should be fall by now to me. Time drags.

I've been going out to walk early each morning, trying to get some exercise and using the time to get some deep breaths. Just Breathe...Just Breathe...

How about you? Are you enjoying summer or would you rather it be fall like me? Fall always seems to be a time for renewal... I'm ready for that.

Thanks for dropping by!

  1. So good to see you here. I read your last post, too, and am thrilled you had earthly angels to help you transition.
It sounds like you are getting a handle on things. These years of life are not easy for most of us and you have experienced the worst of what life offers.
Thinking of you and I will keep you in my prayers. Love that old church pew. xo Diana

  2. We all have too much stuff and most of it, we don’t need. I keep attempting to downsize but I never get far. Yesterday, I gave away a gravity chair that I bought a few years ago and never sat in. I probably would have broken something getting in and out of it. Putting it in someone’s car and seeing it leave my garage was a small victory.

  3. We downsized when we moved here to our little cottage. It took a time prior to moving to sort all our things out and months once we had moved in but we are happy with the finished result now.

  4. Grief is so different for each of us and it look like you are managing through it well. Glad to see you posting today. We had to downsize 4 times in the last 8 years and now I think I have it down to just what we need for everyday. At first I was nervous about letting things go. Had a weird emotional attachment to things. Then as I let things go it felt good. Have a good start to the new week.

    1. Kris, I'm having a hard time letting go of Wild Bill's things, and his mother's family things too. Living in a small 750 foot apartment helps keep things in perspective! Not much room for extras...

  5. Hey! It's so good to see you! Do not cut your hair! It's beautiful. You're beautiful. Downsizing! Good grief, we could haul off a pick-up load every day. Sometimes I think we're bringing in more than we are carrying off. :) It has been tough for you, I know. Glad to see your smile. You take care.

  6. Sooo good to see you back! Despite the struggles. I am not a summer girl and, like I always have, look forward to autumn, which has always felt like the beginning of a new year to me. I gave the new Blogger a spin and did not like it at all. Am not looking forward to the day when they automatically switch me over to it. I might have to get a lesson from you in how to manage it!

  7. So good to see you back - you have lovely hair. Downsizing can be hard, we still have "stuff" stored all over the place even though I got rid of a lot when we got married and moved two houses into one. Take it slowly as you are doing. We are just going out of autumn towards winter - have had some lovely autumn days but now just days of drizzle, not so good. Love and hugs from New Zealand.

  8. Wonderful to hear from you! You look lovely in your longer hair. That's the thing about hair: cut it off and it grows back...lol! Downsizing can be a bear, deciding what needs to stay or go. Summer days are here and they will go quickly so best to enjoy them! You are on my prayer list to ask for Elohim to help with decisions that need to be made and for comfort.

  9. I can't imagine that it's easy to grieve during this crazy time. Getting out, seeing friends and finding comfort outside the house is nearly impossible. That must be tough. I'm thinking of you and by the way, I love your long hair! Looks great.

    1. Thank you Kim. You get it I think...loss and shutdown have left me with only a few people in my everyday life. I will always be grateful for two people from my long ago past: My ex-sister in law and my ex-brother in law. I divorced my ex in 91, but thankfully his brother and sister have remained my buddies through the years. They are there for me now, I couldn't ask for better friends.

  10. Good to see you back on the blog -the journey is different for each one of us. While on furlough, I have been downsizing too. One day at a time.

  11. I like the hair!

Oh no I love summer and hate the autumn.

I think we've just gained more and more crap during lockdown. Sigh.

  13. I like fall better, our summers are too hot and humid for my liking. And I like your hair, it is better to have it long for summer anyway, so that you can put it up when it is hot.
