Crossholidation???

Crossholidation...Verb?...the dastardly act of embracing the Christmas season before Thanksgiving is over.
Sign me up. Call me guilt-tee! Wrap me in a package and put a big holiday bow on it right after the last trick-or-treatin' child leaves my door.
I like the holiday season and it always goes too fast. I don't really care if you prefer to say "Happy Holidays!" to me instead of "Merry Christmas!" We're all different and we should celebrate any way we want.

And, if I'm late getting my Christmas decorations up, then I have been known to keep them up 'til long after the last HO.HO.HO. has been heard...I mean, red Valentine's Day hearts and green St Pat's Day shamrocks don't necessarily clash with the red and green of the Christmas season now do they?
I do draw the line at Easter though. Easter just really doesn't mix with any other holiday theme now does it?

Thanks for dropping by!

  2. Thanksgiving is such a special time here in the Summer House that I never put Christmas up until the day AFTER...
Most of our family gathers here for Thanksgiving Lunch and this year we will have about 20 family members...I hang on to pumpkins and fall colors to celebrate how thankful I am to have my family close.

  3. I don't usually decorate but if I do I need Holiday movies to get me in the mood.
"It's a Wonderful Life" always works!
Yep, still way too early for me.

  4. Haha, I guess I fall into the don't decorate until after Thanksgiving camp but I totally get it. I could and probably will put Christmas decor up at the farm since we'll be in the city for Thanksgiving. It does go by tonquickly and I want to enjoy it as much as I can. Have fun!

  5. We don't have Thanksgiving here in the UK so Christmas décor starts sneaking in anytime now and keeps been added to.

  8. LOL-Oh! Sugar!!! You and my late mother-in-law. I don't think she waited until the last trick-or-treater was out the door. She would leave the tree up LONG past Christmas and hang different decorations on it. My husband said one year she hung Easter eggs on it and they were all embarrassed. lol She broke her arm at 67 years old playing basketball with the neighborhood kids. She was THAT mom. lol xo Diana

    1. I will be 67 on my next birthday and I like making tents with my grandkids under the table with blankets. In my head, I'm still 19.

  9. Okay, so you've inspired me. Little glimpses of your Christmas decor have made me so anxious to get up into the attic and pull down the holiday boxes. ;)
