Buying A House - Making A Home

At the end of January, I closed on a house in a Del Webb (55-plus) community in Illinois.

Without Wild Bill, it was emotionally much harder than I expected. I cried all the way to the closing. It made his death feel so final.

Up to that point, everything had been temporary actions!

Buying a house required making a commitment and fully admitting Wild Bill would not be here to help make this house a home.

So, here I am...back again and planning to stay. I hope all of my blogging friends will join me in this new journey.

Please help by giving your advice, or even just an opinion, whenever I'm stuck with indecision -- If you're an old reader, you know that happens quite often!

Thanks For Dropping In!

  1. Congratulations on your new home! I think Wild Bill would like your choice. Your name came into my prayer time the other night and I wondered how you are doing.

  2. So very sorry. My ex husband left me and our 10 year old son with just a goodbye note on the kitchen table. Selling the house alone and getting a townhouse was very difficult. Making all decisions alone was hard. Thankfully, good friends helped me in so many wonderful ways. After seven years alone, raising my son, teaching school all day, running my tutoring business afternoons and evenings and going to gradate school, I gained so much confidence in handling things. Then, the Lord brought my wonderful husband of 31 years into my life. My principal and her husband had us to dinner at their home and we married after dating 4 1/2 months! I'm praying for you and looking forward to reading about your new adventure! God bless!

    1. thank you Savannah. It was doubly hard because Wild Bill was one of my best friends for 3 and a half years before we ever thought of dating. We were best friends until the day he died.

    1. Just to let you know how to get to the Magnolia Network in case you haven't figured it out yet. There is such a good lineup of shows about gardening, homemaking, cooking, farming and lots of human interest series. The Network is a part of Discovery Plus. It is constantly advertised on regular channels or just type in. It costs $4.99 a month, but that includes commercials. You cannot fast forward through them but they never last more than one minute. For a little larger price you can get it commercial free..I know you would enjoy it..xxoJudy
