Wood Floors, A Spooky Story

Oldest daughter Jenn lives clear out in San Diego.
Her co-worker Shannon just bought an old house,
tore out the yucky carpet, and is now trying to
determine how to refinish the old wood floors.
At work Friday, Jenn's co-workers were discussing
the wood floor issue. Another girl, Anna, jumped on
Google and brought up wood floors (pictures only)
and checked out a few finishes.

When Anna found the one she liked, she told
Shannon, "here's the finish you should do".

Our daughter Jenn glanced over from her desk,
took one look at Anna's computer screen and said,
"That's my mother's kitchen!"

The girls weren't on my blog, they were on a Google
site where Anna just typed in some search words for
wood floors.

They're in San Diego, we're in Texas.
The other girls didn't even know I have a blog.
I posted about our wood floors 2 years ago.

What are the chances?

These pictures are the ones I posted in a couple
of blog posts in November 2012. I took these
poor quality pics with my first little point-and-
shoot camera.

I thought they were good back then,
forgive me.

We still love those hand-distressed floors.
Best decision we made for the house.

Now tell me, have you ever experienced a
spooky coincidence like that?

They say there is no such thing as a coincidence.
Do you believe that?

Blogs I Party At:

  1. How funny! And flattering that out of what they searched yours were the suggested floors.

  2. How fun is that?! You just never know where you might show up. :-)

  3. Wow! How crazy is that?! Just proves that you have great taste!

  4. LOL- Oh- I love it! I love things like this that happen. We have had a few of those same spooky coincidences over the years, too. They are kind of freaky, aren't they? How perfect your story is!!!! xo Diana

  5. That's so funny but it proves you have good taste and excellent floors! I love your floors too!

  6. Strange but true! I bet they did not believe her at first. Lovely floors. I had something similar happen recently in my booth. A customer was looking through my stuff and said, "You would really like a blog I just found - Distressed Donna!" When I told her I was Distressed Donna, we laughed and laughed.

  7. What a fun coincidence! That's crazy! The floor is beautiful! Thanks for stopping by my blog and following. I'm now following you also! Have a great week!

  8. hahhaa....gotta love it.

    S P O O K Y!!!

  14. I think it is awesome that like minds think a like.

  15. What are the chances? That just proves what excellent taste you have! :-)

  16. What a great find to know your floors are out there in search engines for folks to see and admire. The pics are great by the way and your kitchen is amazing. I love your floors. We have the distressed hand scraped too and love them.
Once our photos go out in cyber space, they are there and can be pulled up in images anytime someone puts a word like "floor ideas" in the search bar. I am sure your beautiful floors are being seen by hundreds everyday!! Great thought huh??

We are cold here in North Texas and had to turn on the furnace for the first time last night. This is early for us and hope we are not in for a long winter!!
    Happy November!!
    Hugs and Blessings

  17. I don't know for sure if I'm right about this but I think that means people like your picture on Google!! You're popular. :)

A few years ago I randomly clicked on something and it was my next door neighbor's daughter's blog. She had a cooking blog at the time. It made me laugh because there are zillions of blogs and what are the chances?

Your kitchen and floor are beautiful!!

  18. Your floors are great! It is always nice to see your blog come up in a search! Thanks for joining Home Sweet Home!
