What's It Wednesday?




Anyone have an idea what this might have been used for? 

I bought it for $3 recently at a local thrift shop. It has a wedged front and is about 4 inches by 5 inches in size.

The ladies at the shop were as perplexed as I am about its possible use. But I think it's pretty, and I love the blue and white. 
The only suggestion I've heard is it might be a cheese server. What do you think?

    It's a vintage cheese plate or cheese tray. To hold a block of cheese. Enjoy your new find! Very popular here and hard to find.

    A cheese tray seems probable. It certainly held some form of snack served with afternoon tea.

    It is a cheese tray, they were also sometimes used for a block of butter.

    I did a Google search and found some and they referred to them as a "cheese keeper". That's a beauty that you found!

    It's a covered cheese dish, see them a lot in English antique shops. Yours is a beauty.

    It's a lovely dish, I would have snapped it up too, if I'd gotten there before you -- Or if we saw it at the same time, we would have had to toss a coin for it! :-)

    Well, maybe it's a cheese dish to some people
