Three Pretties In The Family

This year our youngest granddaughter went off to kindergarten. Of course a new backpack was necessary to celebrate the occasion!

Her older cousin, our only other granddaughter, got her long hair cut and a sophisticated hairstyle for her return to school this year.

Not to be outdone, my 95-year-old father-in-law made it to his monthly appointment with Mary at the beauty shop in his retirement community.

Pop And Mary Getting The Pedi Started

A haircut, a mani, and a pedi is something Pop loves and looks forward to each month and I don't blame him. Mary has done his hair and nails for the last 5 years, and she always makes him feel special.

How about you? Pedicures...like 'em or loath them?

I don't like my nails touched by other people so I thought I would hate them. I finally tried it this month for the second time in my life. I did cringe a little at times, but it was so worth it in the end.

Thanks for dropping by!

  1. Cute girls. That is cool for your FIL.
If someone wanted to give ma a foot massage I would accept! Mani and pedi have always been done at home. I have never had either done professionally.

  2. I just about cope with having my hair cut, but wouldn't want anyone touching my nails. I don't even like massages, whereas my partner loves them.

    1. Sad to say I have never had a massage either. Just don't like the idea of it, although due to surgery I did go to a Medical Masseuse for a while. She was expense, but really helped.

  4. I do hands and feet of my boys every month otherwise their nails get out of control. I do my own as well as pluck my eyebrows. My husband does his own fingernails, but he doesn’t always stay on top of his toenails, so I tell him get the clippers, I will get them for you. He gives the boys their monthly haircuts and he trims mine every couple months to stay on top of our grooming.

    1. Keri, you must save a lot of money each month by doing haircuts and nails for so many. I'd call that self-sufficient to the max!

  5. Precious Pictures. Our youngest grandchild started First Grade. His sister our grandddaughter started junior high . Big changes for our daughter and son in law. My cousin she is age 101 and she still drives. She is completely alert and orientated. Her son is a Doctor so she gets excellent care.

    1. Wow. 101. My father-in-law had to give up driving at 86. He walked 5 miles every day until he was late 80's. He worked until he was 65 in the leather industry in Dallas, then got another job as a bag boy at 65 until he was 80!

  6. New backpacks are always a treat, I could use a new one, if not for my aching back. And a haircut, I HATE getting my hair done, and my mani pedi is horrible. I like how they look after, but hate the sitting and waiting. Not to mention the odor of the salon. Needless to say a hair cut is necessary, but a mani/pedi is not so frequent.

  7. What a beautiful family you have. Is there anything more exciting, and scary, than the first day of kindergarten?

  9. I'm not a huge fan because I really don't like people touching my feet or hands. Every once in a while it's a luxury. Your granddaughters are cuties.

  10. I am no fan of pedicures, manicures or massages. I do not care for other people touching me if not medically related.... Strange, I know but I can't help it!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
    Hugs,
    Debbie
