After an August break, Five on Friday returns today on English Amy's blog called Love Made My Home. I'm happy to be linking up this little corner of our house today.
Let's pretend I put these things together because they have a feel of late summer/early fall and add texture and lightness to an otherwise drab room. Truth is they probably just ended up here with no where else to go and I just noticed today they conveniently add up to five.
One...Magnolia Leaf Wreath. I may have to change out the bow as it's getting a little worn, but for now the shimmery gold color is coming into season. The wreath hangs on an old garage sale frame to give it added oomph.
Two...Old garage sale table lamp with Pottery Barn shade. To say I love these shades is an understatement. I bought two of these smaller ones and two larger ones some time back, and it was the best money I've ever spent at Pottery Barn.
Three...The most realistic fake candle I've ever had! Honestly, this candle's wick makes it really hard to tell it's fake.
It works on two little triple A batteries and has a remote control. The "flame" is this little piece of plastic, shaped like a flame, that wavers back and forth and makes the light look like it's flickering.
Wild Bill thought it was real until he picked up the remote and turned it off and on by himself.
He has a little flower pot in his lap for now, but soon little pumpkins will fill up the bowl around him to help him transition to Fall.
Five...Did you notice the old farm table with baskets that everything is sitting on? I bought it at an actual farm sale back in the early 80's and it was already old back then.
I've painted it a few times...forest green, french gray, and of course white too...now it's going to get a little distressing and some dark wax very soon.
Well, that's my five for this week. Follow the link HERE and check out what the others are up to before the Labor Day weekend is over.
Thanks for dropping by!

ReplyDeleteCan you believe it, I thought about buying one of those candles and then put down and walked out without it! Now I need one!
Many thanks too for coming by my photo blog! You are so kind!
Happy weekend!
Christine, I started to buy that candle last Christmas, but walked away. Finally went back to shop in August while visiting in Naperville Il area and bought it. Plan to buy one each time I visit. So much easier than real ones.
DeleteIntentional or not it is a cute little vignette! I love that lamp shade....very pretty! Have a great weekend!!!!

Nice five, I have a set of candles like that and my husband was surprised by them too. Love that wreath! And of course, the bunny, I'm a sucker for bunnies.
ReplyDeleteI love it all! and I'm with you on the lamp shades. Those are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteWhat busy soul you are!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great collection.
ReplyDeleteLovely decorations. The bunny is adorable.
ReplyDeleteThe candle does look real! Nice vingette
ReplyDeleteThe farm table is charming! Love the magnolia leaf wreath and the lamp!
ReplyDeletenice arrangement. I've always felt that we have things in our home that we love, so when someone suggests you get a designer in to change things up, I always feel they don't have the same impact emotionally in our "home".
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking at The Fabulous Fall Party! The party goes all the way to the end of Oct. so come over and link all your Fall posts. The linky changes every Thursday. See you soon. Have a Happy and Safe Labor Day!
ReplyDeleteLove the magnolia wreath and how neat is that candle??
ReplyDeleteI had to smile. I was joking with my daughter today about how soon Christmas comes around and opened a cupboard door where our raffia Easter Bunny fell out. I love your bunny and the autumnal touches you have shown . Have a wonderful weekend xx
ReplyDeleteYou have some charming decor in your home. I'm still in late summer mode, but you're inspiring me to perhaps move into fall.
ReplyDeleteA lovely display! The faux candle is very good isn't it. If you didn't tell anyone I am sure that no one would ever know! Thank you for joining in, have a great weekend! xx
ReplyDeletePutting the wreath in the frame was genius. I suspect that we'll all be copycats in the future. Must share with my neighbor who is excellent at decorating, like you.
ReplyDeleteIt's such a lovely collection you have put together. I especially like the table with the baskets; very handy. Wishing you a wonderful holiday weekend, Pat :)
